Forests for Life Institute
Growing the Miyawaki Forest Movement through Hands-On Training Institutes
Problem: Interest in planting Miyawaki Forests is growing but lack of knowledge, experience, and funding prevent implementation.
Solution: Share the knowledge, resources, and funding strategies and provide hands-on training to go from idea to Forest by forming a partnership between Green Pocket Forest (GPF) and the Site Host through the Forests for Life Institute.
Goal: Grow the Miyawaki Forest movement through hands-on Forests for Life Institutes at actual Miyawaki Forest tree planting events, which in turn will inspire and equip more people to host an institute at another site.
Outcomes:
More Miyawaki Forest with all their benefits!
More people with the knowledge and experience to plant more Miyawaki Forests and offer their planting sites as training sites.
Partnership: GPF and Site Host (schools, churches, non-profits, individuals, and businesses)
Training, resources, and fundraising support provided throughout the entire cycle from preparation to maintenance.
Partners recruit students to participate in the Institute and recruit volunteer at plantings, inspiring more people to host plantings.
Equip more people with the knowledge and skills to plant more Miyawaki Forests.
